Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, where it goes and how to get it back. It is short because the site asks for very little.
Who This Policy Is From
Vanta Auto Care is a family run automotive studio operated by Dylan and Melisa at Unit 19/14 Longford Rd, Epping VIC 3076. This policy covers the information this website collects from you, and what happens to it afterwards.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In plain terms: we tell you what we collect, we only use it for the reason you gave it to us, we keep it to ourselves, and you can ask for it or ask us to delete it at any time.
What We Collect
The only information this website asks you for is what you type into the quote form. That is six things, and the form shows you every one of them as you fill it in.
- Your Name
- So we know who we are talking to.
- Your Phone Number
- So we can reach you about the enquiry.
- Your Email Address
- The other way we can reach you.
- Your Vehicle
- The year, make and model, because every job is quoted on the car.
- The Service You Want
- Or that you are not sure yet.
- Anything Else You Write
- The optional note at the end of the form.
What We Do Not Collect
This website does not take payments, so it never asks for card or bank details. It does not ask for identity documents, a date of birth, a licence number or an address. There is no account to create and no password to set.
If you ever receive a message that appears to come from us asking for any of that through this website, it did not come from us.
Why We Collect It
We use it for one purpose: to answer your enquiry, quote the work on your vehicle and arrange it. Dylan and Melisa handle every car themselves, so they are the people who read it.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone else for their own marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.
Who It Is Shared With
Your enquiry is delivered to the owners of the business. To get it there it passes through the services that run this website: the host that serves these pages and the system we use to receive enquiries. Those providers process it on our instructions so that the enquiry reaches us, and for no purpose of their own.
Beyond that, we disclose your information only where the law requires it of us.
Cookies And Other Websites
This site embeds a Google map so you can find the studio, and links out to our Google Business Profile and our Instagram. Those services are run by Google and by Meta, they set their own cookies when you interact with them, and their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.
Where advertising measurement is switched on, this site also loads Meta's advertising pixel, which records that a page was viewed or an enquiry was submitted so we can tell whether an advertisement worked. It is not given the contents of your enquiry.
One more thing worth naming, because it is yours rather than ours: when you submit the form, your first name is saved in your own browser so the confirmation page can greet you by it. It sits in that browser tab, it is cleared when the tab closes, and it is never sent anywhere.
How It Is Stored And For How Long
Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to quote the work, carry it out and support it afterwards, and for as long as we are required to keep business records. When information is no longer needed for either, it is deleted.
We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold. No website and no business can promise that nothing will ever go wrong, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling it.
Asking For It, Correcting It Or Deleting It
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 0405 458 288 or speak to us at the studio and we will take care of it.
We may need to confirm who you are before we act on the request, so that nobody else can ask for your information. If there is a record we are required by law to keep, we will tell you what it is and why.
If You Are Not Happy With How We Handled It
Tell us first. Call 0405 458 288 and we will work it through with you.
If you are still not satisfied, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the national privacy regulator, at oaic.gov.au.
Changes To This Policy
If this policy changes, the current version is published on this page. It applies to the website as it stands when you read it.
